Senior Night Healthcare Assistant

Hours: 36 hours per week (Nights)Pay Rate: 13.50-14.50 per hourContract Type: PermanentLocation: Birkenhead - Liverpool

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Senior Night Healthcare Assistant to join a dedicated team in a residential care setting that provides high-quality, person-centred support to older adults, including those living with dementia, mental health conditions, and physical disabilities.

About the Service:

This well-established home offers long-term residential care, respite care, and short stays for up to 50 residents. The property is a converted period building with a warm, homely atmosphere, bright communal spaces, and secure, landscaped gardens.

Residents enjoy a wide range of tailored activities, including hobby sessions, community engagement, and day trips, with dedicated coordination to ensure emotional and social wellbeing.

The Role:

As a Senior Night HCA, you'll oversee and support the care team during night shifts. Your focus will be ensuring residents' comfort, safety, and clinical needs are met, particularly overnight. You'll act as a team leader, administer medication (where trained), and escalate concerns appropriately.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care in line with each resident's care plan.

  • Oversee and support night staff to maintain a calm, caring environment.

  • Administer or assist with medication (where trained and competent).

  • Carry out regular wellbeing checks and maintain accurate documentation.

  • Respond appropriately to any emergencies or changes in residents' conditions.

  • Support with end-of-life and palliative care, where required.

  • Promote dignity, independence, and respect at all times.

Requirements:
  • Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification (or equivalent) - Essential

  • Previous experience in a senior care or night care role

  • Medication competency - preferred (training may be provided)

  • Solid understanding of dementia care and safeguarding practices
