If you love working nights, like to keep busy during quiet shifts, and are always happy to talk and help people, you're off to a great start.

We are looking for a Night Worker (internally known as a Building Supervisor) to work in our supported accommodation buildings in Cheltenham, which provide 24/7 housing and support for young people aged 16-25 who were homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Role details

This is a full-time position. 4 shifts per week on a rolling rota (12.25 hr shift: 8pm-8:15am, 1 hr unpaid break).

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the buildings are safe and secure for residents.
  • Be a point of contact for residents to ensure the home is safe and secure.
  • Liaise with support staff to ensure a good flow of information between shifts through handovers.
  • Keep the building clean, tidy and presentable; undertake light maintenance duties.
  • Engage with residents who may need someone to listen to them.
  • Defuse situations that may affect the health, safety or well-being of residents.
  • Undertake health and safety checks and walk-arounds during shifts.
  • Adopt sound judgement to resolve situations or seek support from peers and emergency services if needed.
  • Demonstrate empathy and patience towards residents.

Pay: £29,484 per year (Band B)
