Key Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll be on a 7-night on, 14-night off rota, working from Monday to Sunday, between 7 pm and 9 am. We are looking for an ideal candidate who is deeply dedicated to emergency and critical care and excels in delivering gold-standard patient and client care.

Key Accountabilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Stabilizing acute medical cases, performing caesarean sections, and unblocking procedures for cats.
  • GDV experience is a valuable bonus.
  • Working confidently in a sole charge capacity and making sound clinical judgments.
  • Night shift experience is desirable but not essential; there is an opportunity to pursue an ECC certificate if aligned with your career goals.

The Branch

This hospital is recognized as a Gold Standard Cat-Friendly Clinic by the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM). It features separate waiting rooms, wards, consult rooms, and isolation areas for cats and dogs.

Facilities include a dental suite, dental x-ray, in-house laboratory with Idexx analyzers, endoscopic and laparoscopic equipment, rhinoscopy, digital x-ray, and ultrasound services.

The team includes eight veterinarians, with a dedicated night team managing out-of-hours care. Leadership is provided by two experienced Branch Partners, one with a certificate in Small Animal Surgery and expertise in surgery, radiography, analgesia, and musculoskeletal rehab, and the other with nine years of experience, focusing on medicine, ultrasonography, and endoscopy, working towards a certificate in Internal Medicine.

The nursing/support team comprises four qualified nurses, five student nurses, and receptionists.

The Area

The hospital is close to London, with train connections to Victoria and London Bridge (25-30 mins). Located in a vibrant neighborhood with a strong pet-loving community, it offers access to the capital and nearby natural beauty spots like North Downs and Surrey Hills.
