A progressive veterinary practice in Shrewsbury is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon focused on emergency critical care. In this role, you will lead care for inpatients overnight and manage emergency consultations. Shrewsbury Hospital are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with an interest in emergency critical care to join their hospital.
Shrewsbury Hospital is a 24-hour facility committed to providing exceptional care to our patients. With dedicated staff managing both incoming cases and inpatients, we offer two theatre suites (one for advanced surgeries), a dental suite, and separate wards for dogs and cats, highlighting our commitment to feline-friendly care. Our practice includes five consulting rooms to accommodate a diverse caseload, including soft tissue and orthopaedic cases. Join us and work alongside our advanced clinical team, which includes surgical certificate holders.
Working as a Night Vet, you will take the lead on caring for inpatients kept in overnight, ensuring all their needs are met. You will also see emergency consultations that arrive at the hospital and perform any emergency surgery required during your shift.
You’ll be supported by a Registered Veterinary Nurse and a Twilight ANA, who will assist with your workload. This caseload offers a wide variety of cases to keep your work both engaging and rewarding.

Rota: 7 on 14 off, working an average of 31.1hrs a week on a 3 week rota.
Hours: 19:00 - 08:00hrs
