The role:

We are seeking a Night Vet to join our team, helping to establish and expand our night emergency and critical care services. The ideal candidate is confident in diagnostics, medical and surgical case management, and has a solid reputation for reliability and expertise.

Technical Experience (essential):

• Experienced veterinary surgeon comfortable managing cases from first consultation through diagnostics
• Proven in diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring outcomes, including hospitalisation
• Procedures: Gastrotomy, enterotomy, splenectomy, cystotomy, GDV, wound management, limb, digit, tail amputation, fracture management, spinal/neurological emergencies, ultrasound, radiography, endoscopy, blood gas analysis, blood products, CPR

Essential qualities:

• Confident working independently with support from RVN
• Passionate about emergency and critical care
• Excellent record keeping and client communication
• Empathetic, honest, and dedicated
• Team player eager to learn and collaborate

Preferred but not essential:

• ECC certificate holder
• Ultrasound in various specialties, advanced surgical techniques, endoscopy, official veterinarian status

Facilities:

• Three theatres with positive pressure ventilation
• Separate wards for dogs and cats
• Advanced surgical equipment and CT access
• On-site ensuite accommodation (potential for daytime rest)

Working hours:

Night shifts from 6:45 pm to 8:15 am, 7 nights on and 14 nights off. Day shifts optional for additional hours.
