Isabelle Vets in Guernsey is seeking a Night Veterinary Nurse to join our team. We are open to permanent applicants or an experienced long-term locum RVN during recruitment for a permanent position.

The hospital at Garenne Park will open in January 2027, offering 24-hour care, modern facilities, and a chance to develop our night service within a new building. This is a key period of growth for the practice.

Qualifications

• RVN qualified and registered with the relevant veterinary nursing body.
• Experience with overnight shifts and inpatient nursing preferred.
• Ability to work independently with team support available.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to inpatients during night hours.
• Support emergency cases overnight and monitor patients.

Isabelle Vets is looking for a Night Veterinary Nurse to join our team in Guernsey.

We are ideally looking for a permanent member of the team who can join us as soon as possible, although we would also be happy to consider an experienced long-term locum RVN while we recruit for the permanent position.

This is an exciting time to join Isabelle Vets. We are currently building a brand-new veterinary hospital at Garenne Park, due to open in January 2027, which will provide modern facilities and 24-hour care for our patients.

Guernsey is a beautiful island, boasting a rich heritage and culture plus a laid-back atmosphere. It has an abundance of nature reserves, with stunning cliff walks and beaches – a truly great place to enjoy the outdoors. Residents enjoy an excellent standard of living, and the local schools are of a high standard. Islanders also benefit from a private healthcare system.

There are good transport links to the UK with flight times from as little as 40 minutes or ferry sailings from just 3 hours.

About the role

As part of our night team, you’ll play an important role in providing high-quality care to our inpatients and supporting emergency cases overnight.

We’re looking for an RVN who is confident working overnight, enjoys inpatient nursing and is comfortable working independently while having the wider veterinary team available for support.

You’ll have the opportunity to be part of developing our 24-hour service as we move into our new hospital.

• Dedicated dog and cat areas

• Four operating theatres
• CT and X-ray facilities
• Dedicated equine hospital facilities
• 24-hour veterinary care
