Job summary

Village Hotels is seeking a Night Team Leader to be the engine of the overnight shift. You will run the night audit, conduct security checks, and ensure guests and events operate smoothly while keeping the building compliant and the team motivated.

As the night leader, you will manage rotas to balance wage costs, train new starters, run team briefings, and hand over to the early Duty Manager to start the day strong. Your attitude and energy are valued as much as experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality/night shift preferred.
• Able to manage night audit and security checks.
• Strong leadership under fatigue and busy periods.

Responsibilities

• Oversee night operations, including reconciling day’s takings and securing the building.
• Ensure exceptional guest welcome for late arrivals and smooth check-outs for early departures.
• Lead the night team, manage rotas, train new starters, and handover to the Day team.

The Role Outline: Your Shift at a Glance

When the sun goes down, you are the crucial link keeping the entire hotel together. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you will support the Night Manager by running the overnight audit, securing the building, and jumping in to serve drinks or check in weary guests, all while keeping your team motivated and focused until dawn.

Your Shift: What You’ll Actually Be Doing

As our Night Team Leader, you are the engine of the shift. We trust you to handle:

• The Operation: Taking ownership of the critical night time procedures. You will manage the night audit to reconcile the business of the day, conduct thorough security checks, ensure non-residents leave safely after events, and keep the building fully compliant.
• The Guest Experience: Acting as the ultimate all‑rounder by delivering warm welcomes for late arrivals, efficiently checking out early departures, pouring drinks in the Pub, and preparing room service, ensuring high standards never drop just because it is dark outside.
• The Leadership: Keeping morale high when the team is tired. You will assist with rotas to manage wage costs, train new starters, run team briefings, and deliver a seamless handover to the early Duty Manager to set the day team up for success.
