The Stewarts is a new residential mental health service providing two distinct pathways designed to support people at different stages of their recovery journey.
The service offers Intensive Enablement and Rehabilitation beds, supporting people for up to 18 months within a structured and therapeutic environment. The focus is on developing daily living skills, promoting recovery, building confidence, increasing independence and preparing individuals for successful move-on into longer-term accommodation.
From the point of admission, clear recovery goals and move-on planning are established, with alternative accommodation actively pursued well in advance of discharge.
Alongside this, The Stewarts provides Discharge to Assess (D2A) beds, delivering short-term support of up to six weeks for people transitioning from acute mental health wards or requiring a short-term step-up from community services.
Through regular multidisciplinary reviews and structured assessment processes, individuals are supported to identify and move into the most appropriate longer-term pathway.
The service supports adults aged 18 and over experiencing severe and enduring mental health difficulties, including people who may present with co-existing substance use, complex physical health needs, mild learning disabilities or behaviours that challenge services.
The Stewarts has been specifically designed to support individuals with higher levels of complexity while maintaining a strong recovery and strengths-based focus.
As a leading health and social care provider with more than 300 locations across England, we take real pride in the services we offer.
We run all of our services on a not-for-profit basis; instead, we invest every penny back into our services and people. We never stop believing in change for the better, and we work constantly to improve the lives of the people we support.
