Job summary

Witherslack Group in Milton Keynes is seeking a Night Support Worker to help young people in our care during the night shift. You will provide safe, supportive presence, respond to nights-time needs and build trusted relationships while promoting positive outcomes.

The role includes completing routine tasks, such as paperwork, cleaning and laundry, and you’ll benefit from a 4-week Care Academy induction, a competitive salary, and a generous holiday allowance. DBS checks are supported.

Qualifications

• A full UK driving licence held for at least 12 months.
• Willingness to study Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
• Ability to support young people with SEMH needs during night hours.

Responsibilities

• Care for the home and young people through the night, providing support.
• Build rapport and trust with young people during challenging moments.
• Carry out routine tasks: paperwork, cleaning and laundry.
• Support positive outcomes and safe, nurturing environments.

Our homes accommodate young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, and our aim is to create the best possible outcome for the young people in our care. Our night support workers are fulfilled by the idea of affecting even the smallest positive changes in our young people, so we celebrate the little things.

There will be times when a young person wakes up in the middle of the night dealing with severe trauma, feeling ill, upset or just unable to sleep -having someone there that understands them and provide support in that moment can make a huge difference. Building a rapport and becoming someone our young people can trust in their time of need is what we are looking for. In quieter times we will need you to take care of tasks around the home such as paper work, cleaning and laundry.
