Job summary

Witherslack Group is seeking a Night Support Worker to care for young people in our specialised homes in the UK. You will be there through the night to support during traumas, illnesses or sleep challenges while also handling routine tasks like paperwork, cleaning and laundry.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence held for at least 12 months.
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) or willingness to study.
• Willingness to complete a 4-week Care Academy training.
• Ability to work night shifts (4 on / 4 off).

Responsibilities

• Care for young people during the night, supporting with trauma, illness or sleep issues.
• Build rapport and trust with young people in times of need.
• Carry out tasks around the home such as paperwork, cleaning and laundry.

Our homes accommodate young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, and our aim is to create the best possible outcome for the young people in our care. Our night support workers are fulfilled by the idea of affecting even the smallest positive changes in our young people, so we celebrate the little things.

Get out what you put inYou’ll take care of the home and our young people through the night. There will be times when a young person wakes up in the middle of the night dealing with severe trauma, feeling ill, upset or just unable to sleep -having someone there that understands them and provide support in that moment can make a huge difference. Building a rapport and becoming someone our young people can trust in their time of need is what we are looking for. In quieter times we will need you to take care of tasks around the home such as paper work, cleaning and laundry.
