Job summary

Kier is hiring an Inspector (Night Scout) in Aston, Birmingham on a 40-hour week with evening/night shifts. The role involves surveying the network to spot faults, recording them with handheld devices, and supporting operations to keep assets functioning and safe for the public.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and comfortable night driving.
• Knowledge of highways electrical assets and operating principles.
• HEA 210 / HEA 210.1 (G39) desirable; training provided.
• Proficient with maps and spatial data and related tech.
• Able to work independently or in a team with strong customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct night-time surveys to identify faults in street lighting and signs.
• Record and raise jobs for electrical defects using handheld tech.
• Support planning teams with follow-up inspections to ensure assets work.
• Process and raise jobs from public enquiries efficiently.
• Report urgent defects to the Control Room to safeguard the public.
