Job summary

Sainsbury’s is seeking a Customer Assistant to cover night shifts. You’ll be involved in stocking shelves, moving stock from warehouse to shopfloor, and keeping aisles clean and inviting for the next day.

Working nights requires energy and resilience, a hands-on approach and the ability to work safely with a variety of products. You’ll join a friendly team and may assist at checkouts or with online orders after training, enjoying benefits like nightshift pay premium and retailer discounts.

Responsibilities

• Getting the store ready for the day ahead by filling shelves, working at a good steady pace throughout the night and being prepared to work with a variety of product types
• Keeping your workspace tidy for other colleagues and making sure our aisles are clean, presentable and ready for our customers the next day
• Collecting and moving stock safely from the warehouse to the shopfloor, including heavy equipment and containers
• Working across different parts of the store, which could include chilled and frozen areas
• Using equipment, handsets and digital systems to complete your work accurately and safely
• Helping in other areas when needed, which could include picking online orders or serving customers at checkouts once you’re trained and confident
