Where will youwork?
A mile from Waterlooville, and a short distance from Portsmouth city centre, Parkwood Lodge is a large, detached home supporting seven men and women with mental health conditions and associated complex needs, including people with schizophrenia, personality disorder, those in danger of self-harming and people with an acquired brain injury, as well as one person with learning disability. Ages range from early twenties to sixty. The experienced staff team provides 24-hour residential support and day care services. The aim is to support everyone to develop personal and independent living skills, so they can get the most out of life and eventually move on to a more independent lifestyle. Our Positive Behaviour Support Team works alongside the staff to help people manage their behaviours and encourage a sense of wellbeing. Parkwood Lodge has an Activity Coordinator who organises educational and recreational activities, including football, theatre, live music, the cinema, horse riding, pet therapy and special events, like the Parkwood Summer Fete. The coordinator develops individual timetables, based around each person’s preferences and personal development needs. The home has its own transport for trips into town or further afield.
