Job description

Night Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon Position

Our client is seeking a dedicated Night Veterinary Surgeon to join their team in Pulborough, West Sussex. This role offers the opportunity to change the lives of pets and their owners through emergency and critical care, while providing support, work–life balance, and growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional emergency and critical care to small animals during night shifts.
  • Collaborate with a skilled team, including ECC nurses and ACA support.
  • Maintain clinical freedom to deliver personalised care.

Rota Details:

  • Night shift rota patterns are either 7–on/14–off OR 3–on/7–off/4–on/7–off.
  • 13–hour shifts with handover time included.
  • Semi–annualised rota with part of holiday allowance built in.
  • 7 shifts a year may be taken off as a booked holiday.

About The Candidate:

  • Veterinary Surgeon (MRCVS) with at least 2 years of small–animal practice experience, ideally in the UK.
  • Interest and experience in emergency and critical care.
  • Demonstrate values of humility, respect, empathy, work ethic, honesty, communication, and teamwork.

Salary:

  • Competitive salary of between GBP60,000 to GBP72,000 per annum, reflective of skills, experience, and rota agreed.
