JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Welding

DEPARTMENT: Production

Location: 1216 4th Ave N. Kent, WA 98032

Hours: Full-time - Night Shift 2:30PM to 1:00AM, Monday through Friday

Open Date: Available now

Pay: DOE (Typical $25+) + 100% paid medical + quarterly profit sharing

Environment: In-doors, heated shop

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate welding equipment, MIG & TIG on production parts
  • Read blueprints and drawings and take measurements to plan layout and procedures
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment and settings
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications
  • Follow specific work instructions for each task
  • Keep accurate records of production and properly document work
  • Capable of inspecting parts using calipers and tape measures as needed
  • Perform in-process inspection on work
  • Be courteous, personable and respectful of all fellow employees
  • Work to keep self and fellow employees safe
  • Ensure housekeeping and daily PM activities are performed on machines
  • Correctly account for quantity of pieces made and for clocking in and out of work centers
Competency requirements
  • 2+ yrs welding experience (preferred, can train)
  • 2+ yrs hands-on experience in a metal fabrication environment
  • Ability to read, write, and converse in English; Spanish-speaking lead available as needed
  • Must have reliable transportation to be at work on time every day
  • Must be able to record information required on shop traveler
  • Must be able to read at arm's length customers’ drawings, work instructions and procedures in English
  • Experience with Fanuc robot welders a plus
  • Experience with Laser welding a plus
  • Experience with sandblasting a plus
Physical requirements
  • Must be able to sit, stand and move around continuously for up to 10 hours/day
  • Must be able to lift thirty pounds without assistance and have full physical capability of all limbs
