Job summary

Northern is seeking an onsite Night Shift Team Leader in Engineering, based at Heaton Traincare Centre, Newcastle. You will lead a team of Train Cleaners to keep trains clean, safe and ready for service on a 4‑week rolling roster, with night shifts 20:15–06:15.

As a hands‑on supervisor you’ll organise workloads, assign tasks, and communicate priorities under tight deadlines, while ensuring health and safety standards on every shift.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor directing a team on shift.
• Hands-on leadership with the ability to manage workloads and priorities.
• Strong focus on health and safety and safe handling of materials.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of Train Cleaners to deliver spotless, safe trains.
• Organise workloads, allocate tasks, and communicate priorities under deadlines.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and safety on all shifts.
