Job summary

John Crane, a global leader in mission-critical flow control, is launching a dedicated night-shift testing operation in our Slough Test Laboratory and seeks an experienced Test Technician on a fixed-term contract. You will prepare, set up and execute product testing to support NPD, RCA and qualification programs, while ensuring data accuracy and equipment readiness.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly or product testing.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with practical equipment preparation.
• Understanding of manufacturing or engineering processes and data capture.
• Commitment to safe working practices and risk awareness.
• Effective communication and collaborative teamwork in shifts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare test rigs, install seals and hardware, and run test procedures.
• Capture accurate test data and contribute to analysis and reporting.
• Support NPD, RCA and material qualification activities as required.
• Maintain test readiness, equipment calibration and safe working practices.
• Document test results and support continuous improvement in the lab.
