Job summary

Forth Ports is seeking a Team Leader for the night shift at the Port of Tilbury. You will lead the Cargo Operative team, ensure safe and efficient operations, and coordinate resources to meet customer requirements.

You will report to the Operations Manager and drive continuous improvement while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. The role requires strong people leadership, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Qualifications

• Proven people management and team leadership experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Full UK driving licence and UK working rights.
• Experience operating heavy plant or mobile harbour equipment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Cargo Operative team during the night shift.
• Monitor shift performance and KPIs, taking prompt corrective actions.
• Coordinate people, plant, equipment and systems to meet requirements.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and policy standards across the shift.
• Identify and resolve day‑to‑day operational issues and support maintenance planning.
