Job summary

Voluntary Service Aberdeen invites applications for a Waking Nights Support Worker at Linn Moor Campus, Peterculter. You will contribute to night-time care, support learning activities, and ensure safety and wellbeing for students with learning difficulties and autism.

The role requires night shifts, lone working, and involvement with safeguarding. 35 hours per week on a 4 on, 4 off rota (10pm–8am); progression through to qualified pay scales is possible.

Qualifications

• Experience with young adults with autism/learning difficulties.
• Ability to engage/relate through effective communication.
• Experience with night shifts or waking nights and lone working.

Responsibilities

• Updating and maintaining records according to procedures.
• Promoting health, safety and security, including medication administration.
• Supporting students’ wellbeing and rights, helping them express preferences.
• Contributing to safeguarding and reporting disclosures as required.
• Assisting with night-time learning environments and activities.
• Balancing group needs with individual plans and assessment.
• Carrying out domestic tasks and ensuring a clean, safe environment.
