Job summary

Carmichael UK is seeking a Senior Engineer to join the Heathrow Airport live project, delivering critical civil works on nights. You will lead a team, coordinate with site operations and stakeholders, and ensure safety, quality and programme milestones are met.

The role requires extensive experience in major infrastructure projects, strong leadership, and the ability to work in a live airport environment. UK driving licence and flexibility for permanent night shifts are essential.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Senior Engineer within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to manage and develop Junior Engineers.
• Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering construction methods.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering activities during night shifts.
• Supervise and mentor Junior and Site Engineers.
• Ensure compliance with Heathrow Airport and project-specific standards.
• Review and approve RAMS, ITPs, permits, and engineering documentation.
• Manage setting out, quality assurance, and technical compliance.
• Coordinate subcontractors and site teams.
• Resolve engineering issues and provide technical leadership on site.
• Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
• Produce progress reports and communicate effectively with project stakeholders.
• Drive a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
