Job summary

Highgate Care is seeking a Senior Care Assistant for Alpine Lodge in Stocksbridge. This permanent night shift role focuses on compassionate, person-centred support for residents, ensuring dignity and comfort within a small, caring team.

You will assist with daily living, document care plans, and respond to nurse calls. NVQ level 3 (or willingness to work towards it) and prior similar-role experience are preferred; some evenings and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 (or willing to work towards this)
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Able to work some evenings and weekends

Responsibilities

• Support residents with daily living activities to maintain comfort and dignity.
• Supervise and support junior and new staff under senior supervision.
• Assist residents with mobility, emotional and spiritual care needs.
• Monitor residents who may be confused or have behavioral challenges.
• Complete and review care plans and daily records per policy.
• Support residents in social activities and hobbies in the home.
• Answer nurse calls, doors and phones promptly and pass messages.
