Job summary

Baltic Recruitment are seeking a Permanent Quality Technician for a client in Darlaston. The role operates on a night shift with close collaboration across Quality, NPI, Engineering and Operations teams.

The technician ensures stable processes, early non-conformance detection and real-time risk escalation to protect customer requirements. Key duties include First-Off inspections, machine parameter checks, EOL audits, containment, and supporting problem solving with QE and production supervisors.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of machining & assembly processes.
• Experience with gauges, micrometres, verniers, height gauges, fixtures.
• Basic to intermediate GD&T knowledge.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and control plans.
• Exposure to CMM processes and measurements.
• Knowledge of Core Tools (PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC, FMEA).

Responsibilities

• Perform First-Off inspections at start-up, tool changes, batch changes and resets.
• Validate machine settings per control plans and record data.
• Conduct regular EOL audits and product verifications.
• Identify defects, isolate suspect parts and escalate when needed.
• Support containment activities for internal, supplier, or customer issues.
• Maintain 5S in quality stations and assist audits (IATF 16949, ISO 9001).
