Job summary

Myton Hospices in Coventry and Warwickshire is seeking an experienced Senior Night Nurse to provide clinical leadership across our inpatient services during night shifts. You will lead night staff, coordinate resources, and ensure high standards of patient care.

This role requires strong clinical assessment, proven leadership, and the ability to manage complex situations while maintaining compassionate, person-centred care.

Qualifications

• Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Significant post-registration nursing experience, preferably within specialist palliative care, hospice, inpatient, or acute care settings.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Proven leadership and team coordination experience.
• The ability to remain calm and effective when managing complex situations and competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A flexible and adaptable approach, with a willingness to work across both inpatient units as service needs require.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and operational support across inpatient services during night shifts.
• Act as the primary point of contact for night staff requiring clinical or operational support.
• Assist with management of complex patient care issues and challenging situations as they arise.
• Support and coordinate out-of-hours escalations, liaising with senior staff and on-call doctors.
• Promote safe, effective, and person-centred care throughout the night.
• Respond flexibly to changing service needs and priorities across inpatient units.
