Job summary

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is hiring for a Domestic Support Worker (Band 2) to maintain a clean, hygienic environment for staff, patients and visitors across wards and facilities at Manchester Campus.

The role involves delivering a full cleaning service to wards and offices on a fixed night schedule, following Work Schedules and infection control guidelines to ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Qualifications

• COSHH regulations awareness.
• Experience of working in a domestic environment.
• Ability to work as part of a team with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Empty and dispose of domestic and clinical waste in accordance with the Trust’s Infection Control and Waste Disposal Policies.
• Damp dusting of all furniture, fixtures, fittings, skirting and interior glass doors.
• High and low level dusting of walls, ledges, perimeter fittings, paintwork.
• Clean sanitary fittings and fixtures.
• Supply and replenish consumables (paper towels, toilet rolls, soap).
• Clean and maintain floor areas and surfaces with appropriate equipment.
• Kitchen cleaning, fixtures and appliances.
• Maintain Cleaning Store and equipment.
• Respond to ad-hoc and specialist cleaning requests adhering to Infection Control Guidelines.
• Report defects, pests or building/environment faults to a supervisor.
• Collect and return keys after securing doors and exits.
• Use PPE as required and maintain personal hygiene and uniform.
