Job summary

Enva is seeking a reliable Night shift MRF plant operator to join the Materials Recovery Facility team in Colwick. You will operate conveyors, shredders, balers, screens and sorting systems to process recyclables safely and efficiently.

You will work as part of a busy operations team, ensuring high containment and quality standards, maintaining housekeeping, and reporting any faults or hazards during night shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating industrial plant or machinery.
• Good understanding of health and safety practices within an industrial environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational setting.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant and equipment including conveyors, shredders, balers, screens, and sorting systems.
• Monitor equipment performance, identify faults, and report defects promptly.
• Ensure recyclable materials are processed efficiently and contamination is minimised.
• Carry out routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance tasks.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, keeping work areas clean, safe, and organised.
• Follow all health and safety procedures, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
• Wear and maintain the correct PPE at all times.
• Record production data, downtime, and operational issues accurately.
• Communicate effectively during shift handovers and report any safety or operational concerns.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve plant performance and efficiency.
