About the role

The successful night shift mechanic will be responsible for the following duties:

  1. Take overall responsibility for the daily operation of the engineering workshop and depot infrastructure within budgetary limits, aiming to minimize lost mileage and deliver excellent service to customers while complying with all Group Standard Operating Procedures.
  2. Provide leadership, development, and motivation to staff at specific depot(s).
  3. Manage the workforce effectively with the support of supervisory teams to achieve maximum productivity within a framework of good relations and a safe working environment.
About you
  • Possess a minimum Level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent.
  • Have knowledge and experience of HS&E, vehicle maintenance, Road Safety legislation, etc.
  • Have working knowledge of DVSA legislation and categorization of defeats.
  • Demonstrate proven leadership skills.
  • Have a flexible approach to management and commuting between multi-site operations, providing cover as required.

Hourly Pay Rate: £21.75 (this is the basic pay; actual earnings may be higher due to shift rotation and weekend work, which are paid at higher rates!)
