Job summary

Stobart (Part of the Culina Group) operates a depot in Doncaster and is seeking an Operations Supervisor to manage night shifts, assets, and payroll processes. Salary is up to £31,000 per annum with Monday–Friday 15:00–01:00 shifts and a focus on cost efficiency and staff leadership.

Qualifications

• Track record of leading and motivating a diverse team.
• Excellent communication skills and energetic leadership.
• Experience in a similar transport-related role essential; knowledge of EU Hours and Tachograph legislation.
• PC literacy with Excel spreadsheets.
• Ability to work on own initiative and resolve issues.
• 1 year experience in transport operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach staff during shifts to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain internal databases and liaise with Fleet Dept on defects.
• Administer vehicle and trailer maintenance programs.
• Complete depot daily checks and document in central system.
• Direct contact with drivers on performance and improvements.
• Assist Operations Manager with depot payroll planning.
• Keep personnel files updated with licenses and training.
• Coordinate recruitment and training of employees.
• Assist in accident investigation and follow-up.
• Conduct daily yard and office risk assessments.
• Flag maintenance/repair issues to Operations Manager.
• Provide KPI data for weekly reports to management.
