Job summary

Industrious Recruitment is recruiting for a Night Shift Line Operative at a busy manufacturing facility in Flitwick, producing plastic packaging lids for well-known customers. The role involves 12-hour night shifts, Tuesday–Friday, 8:00pm–8:00am, with a 4-night week and duties across packaging, stock control and line operation.

Ideal candidates will have production/ manufacturing experience, attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures safely.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general production line operations.
• Ensure blenders and silos are filled with materials.
• Issue raw materials for production lines
• Check and prep bulk bins and pallets
• Prepare cartons and boxes for packing finished goods
• Ensure finished goods are packed and labelled
• Scan and book finished packs into stock
• Use scanning software for stock traceability
• Clean down machines and equipment before changeovers
• Carry out colour changes when required
• Report and address minor machine faults
• Carry out machine cleaning and basic maintenance
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness across factory/production areas
• Follow health, safety and quality procedures
• Support other production areas as needed
• Complete any other reasonable duties
• Participate in cross-functional tasks as required

Night Shift Line Operative

Shift: Tuesday - Friday, 8:00pm - 8:00am

Hours: 12-hour night shifts

Job Type: Full-time

We are currently recruiting for a Night Shift Line Operative to join a busy manufacturing facility in flitwick, producing plastic packaging lids for a range of well-known customers.

This is a clean, modern and well-organised working environment, and previous experience within a production, manufacturing or warehouse environment would be highly desirable. Candidates with previous production line experience are particularly encouraged to apply.

The Role

As a Line Operative, you will support the production team to ensure the manufacturing lines operate safely and efficiently throughout the night shift.

Your duties will include:

• Assisting with general production line operations
• Ensuring blenders and silos are kept filled with the required materials
• Correctly issuing raw materials required for production lines
• Checking and preparing bulk bins and pallets
• Making up cartons and boxes for packing finished goods
• Ensuring finished goods are correctly packed and labelled
• Scanning and booking finished packs into stock
• Using scanning software to maintain accurate stock traceability
• Cleaning down machines and material-handling equipment prior to changeovers
• Carrying out colour changes when required
• Promptly reporting and dealing with minor machine or assembly equipment faults
• Carrying out machine cleaning and basic maintenance
• Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness across the factory and production areas
• Following all health, safety and quality procedures
• Supporting other areas of the production operation when required
• Completing any other reasonable duties associated with the role

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a production, manufacturing or warehouse environment
• Previous line/production experience is highly desirable
• A good eye for detail and a strong focus on quality
• The ability to follow processes and instructions accurately
• A reliable and hardworking attitude
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to work independently during night shifts
• A good understanding of health and safety within a working environment
