Job summary

Perfect Placement UK Ltd is recruiting on behalf of our client for a Night Shift HGV Technician based in Pontefract, West Yorkshire. The role runs 8pm–6am, Monday to Friday, in a reputable dealer workshop and focuses on servicing and repairing heavy goods vehicles to high standards, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

You should hold a Level 3 HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance qualification and have proven diagnostics experience, DVSA knowledge, and a full UK HGV licence.

Qualifications

• Level 3 HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance qualification.
• Proven experience in heavy vehicle repairs and diagnostics.
• Knowledge of DVSA standards and compliance requirements.
• Full UK driving licence suitable for HGV vehicles.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality vehicle service.

Responsibilities

• Performing comprehensive repairs and maintenance on heavy goods vehicles
• Conducting routine inspections, including tyre rotations and oil changes
• Diagnosing faults using current diagnostic tools and techniques
• Maintaining accurate records of repair work and warranty claims
• Managing inventory and ensuring workshop cleanliness
• Providing emergency roadside repairs when required
• Supporting junior team members with technical training and guidance
• Completing all relevant documentation in accordance with company and industry standards
