Job summary

CML, part of Culina Group, is recruiting for professional HGV Class 1 Drivers in Telford to support our Long-Life Chilled operation and deliver to retail customers across the UK. This permanent night-shift role offers full-time stability, a supportive transport team, and the opportunity to build a long-term driving career with a trusted logistics business.

You’ll be required to complete safe, timely deliveries, perform vehicle checks, adhere to tachograph rules and health and safety standards,

Qualifications

• Valid C+E Licence.
• Current DCPC and Digital Tachograph cards.
• Minimum 6 months’ HGV Class 1 driving experience preferred.
• Newly qualified drivers will be considered if you show the right attitude and willingness to learn.
• No more than 6 points on your licence, with no DD or DR code convictions.
• Good understanding of Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Directive legislation.
• Ability to complete vehicle checks and report defects correctly.
• Commitment to on-site health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises across the UK.
• Complete nationwide deliveries to Regional Distribution Centres.
• Load and unload where required using PPT equipment.
• Report to the Transport team at the start of each shift and keep them updated on delays, delivery issues or load discrepancies.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and ensure PODs are signed and returned to the Transport Office.
• Follow company procedures, including health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Manage your working time in line with the Road Transport Directive and tachograph rules.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects correctly and take responsibility for your unit and trailer, including temperature checks where required.
• Maintain a professional standard of behaviour, appearance and customer service at all times.
• Take advantage of night-out runs where available, if this is something you are interested in.
