Job summary

P W Gates Distribution Ltd is seeking a confident Forklift Truck Driver for their Welwyn Garden City night operation. You’ll load and unload trailers, move freight in a fast-paced hub, and ensure load security with a strong focus on safety and accuracy.

The role requires a valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence and at least two years of forklift experience in a warehouse or distribution setting. Permanent night shifts with opportunities for development are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' forklift experience in a warehouse, hub, or logistics environment.
• Must hold a valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence.
• Willingness to work permanent night shifts and adapt to operational needs.
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-use safety checks and keep forklift documentation up to date.
• Load and unload trailers and vehicles with care, ensuring load security.
• Maintain correct weight distribution and safe stacking within the hub.
• Operate forklifts safely, adjusting speed for load and conditions.
• Follow site rules and Health & Safety policies at all times.
• Report vehicle faults or damages to the shift supervisor promptly.
• Keep work areas clean, organised, and compliant with procedures.
• Collaborate with drivers and colleagues to maintain smooth operations.
