Mane in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, is seeking an experienced Fabricator Welder - Nights to join its established structural steelwork team. You will cut, weld and assemble steel components to engineering drawings, ensuring high quality and safety.

The role involves reading drawings, operating fabrication machinery, and working nights as part of a reliability-focused team. A welding or fabrication qualification is advantageous, with opportunities for training and career development.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in structural steel fabrication.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Good welding and metalworking skills.
• Experience fabricating and assembling structural steel components.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to use fabrication tools, machinery and measuring equipment.
• Good physical fitness and the ability to handle materials safely.
• A strong awareness of workshop health and safety requirements.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking, with a positive attitude.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A recognised fabrication or welding qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Fabricate and assemble structural steel sections, including UB's, UC's, PFC's, CHS's and other steel components.
• Carry out cutting, grinding and welding operations to meet project requirements.
• Operate hand tools, fabrication machinery and measuring equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure all fabricated components meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards.
• Operate lifting equipment, including overhead cranes, where trained and authorised.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
• Work closely with supervisors and colleagues to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Wear the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures and workshop regulations.
