Job summary

Invictus Group is seeking a skilled Night Shift Engineer to join our facilities maintenance team at Heathrow. You will work across a varied portfolio of office spaces and training centres, ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of all building services and M&E systems on nights.

This hands-on role covers planned preventative and reactive maintenance, fault-finding and LOTO compliance, with opportunities to undertake Authorised Person (AP) training and develop technical skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in building services or facilities maintenance.
• Knowledge of HVAC, heating/cooling and electrical systems.
• Experience with PPM and reactive maintenance.
• Strong fault-finding and problem solving.
• Knowledge of safe systems of work including LOTO.
• Ability to work independently during night shifts.
• Good communication within a facilities team.
• Engineering qualifications or trade background advantageous.

Responsibilities

Night Shift Engineer - M&E

Location: Heathrow

Salary: £46,000 per annum

Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off - Nights (18:30-06:30)

The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Night Shift Engineer to join our facilities maintenance team based in Heathrow. Working across a varied portfolio of office spaces and training centres, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of all building services and mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems.

This is a hands-on engineering role within a planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance environment, offering a varied workload, opportunities to develop your technical skills and the potential to undertake additional Authorised Person (AP) training courses.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a range of building services.
• Maintain and fault-find on HVAC plant, heating and cooling systems.
• Inspect, maintain and repair electrical power and lighting systems.
• Apply and adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to ensure safe working practices.
• Undertake maintenance of plumbing and water systems.
• Carry out general building fabric repairs and maintenance.
• Respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults and implement effective solutions to minimise disruption.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in line with health and safety requirements and site procedures.
• Accurately complete maintenance records, reports and relevant documentation.
• Support the smooth day-to-day operation of the facilities across the office and training centre environments.

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience in a building services, facilities maintenance or M&E engineering role.
• Good working knowledge of HVAC, heating and cooling plant, electrical systems and general building services.
• Experience carrying out both PPM and reactive maintenance.
• A strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
• Knowledge of safe systems of work, including LOTO procedures.
• A proactive, reliable approach with the ability to work independently during night shifts.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a wider facilities team.
• Relevant engineering qualifications or a recognised trade background would be advantageous.
