Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions Ltd is recruiting a Night Shift Electrical Engineer for a prestigious commercial building near Tottenham Court Road, London. You will be part of a small on-site engineering team handling PPM, reactive maintenance, fault-finding and repairs, with a consistent 4 on 4 off night pattern.

The role requires a fully qualified Electrical Engineer, with experience in commercial maintenance and the ability to work independently on night shifts.

Qualifications

• Qualified electrician with Level 2/3 (City & Guilds/NVQ)
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• Experience in commercial building maintenance
• Strong in PPM, reactive maintenance and fault-finding
• Able to work independently on night shifts, client-facing

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical building services.
• Diagnose faults and perform electrical fault-finding and repairs.
• Maintain lighting systems and perform lamp/ballast replacements, including Simmtronic/Philips systems.
• Conduct emergency lighting inspections and testing.
• Maintain electrical distribution systems, including distribution boards and equipment.
• Undertake minor electrical installation works as authorised.
• Complete tasks within agreed timescales and uphold safety procedures.
• Report faults and liaise with client/site management on service delivery.

Electrical Night Shift Engineer – 4 on 4 off – Prestigious Commercial Building – Tottenham Court Road, London – £50,000 per annum

CBW Staffing Solutions are currently recruiting for a Night Shift Electrical Engineer to join an established FM service provider at a prestigious commercial building in Tottenham Court Road, London.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified Electrical Engineer with a strong background in commercial building maintenance. Working as part of a small on-site engineering team, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, fault-finding and electrical repairs across the site.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across all electrical building services.
• Diagnose faults and undertake electrical fault-finding and repairs.
• Maintain lighting systems, including lamp and ballast replacements and Simmtronic/Philips lighting systems.
• Carry out emergency lighting inspections and testing.
• Maintain electrical distribution systems, including distribution boards and associated equipment.
• Undertake minor electrical installation works, including installing new sockets, lighting and circuits where appropriately authorised.
• Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed within agreed timescales and to the required standards.
• Identify and report faults with building services equipment, taking appropriate action to resolve issues.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety regulations and site procedures.
• Escort specialist subcontractors and monitor their activities while on site.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete all relevant paperwork.
• Liaise professionally with the client and site management team regarding maintenance issues and service delivery.
• Ensure contractual obligations, KPIs and SLAs are consistently achieved.
• Monitor mechanical building services plant and report any faults or abnormalities to the relevant team.

Requirements

• Electrically qualified to Level 2 and Level 3, such as City & Guilds or NVQ, or equivalent.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• Proven experience working within commercial building maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of electrical PPM, reactive maintenance and fault-finding.
• Experience working within a large commercial building would be advantageous.
• Must be able to provide copies of relevant electrical qualifications and trade certificates.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Professional, client-facing approach.
• Reliable and able to work independently during night shifts.
