Overview

Freelance Electrical Construction Manager (Nights) - CAT A/B Fit-Out - £412.50/shift

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a major MEP contractor with a turnover exceeding £50 million, who are seeking a Freelance Electrical Construction Manager for night shift coverage on a high-profile CAT A/B commercial fit-out project.

This contractor has a strong reputation for delivering complex fast-track schemes in partnership with leading main contractors such as Overbury, Mace, and Structuretone.

Role Details

• Position: Freelance Electrical Construction Manager
• Shifts: Night work (typically 6pm-6am)
• Location: Central London
• Rate: £412.50 per shift (Ltd/Umbrella)
• Start Date: Immediate/ASAP
• Duration: Ongoing, long-term freelance opportunity
• Project Type: CAT A/B commercial fit-out

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all electrical works on site during night shifts
• Ensure electrical installation works are delivered to a high standard
• Coordinate efficiently with other trades and site management
• Drive progress in line with programme targets
• Maintain site safety, quality, and compliance
• Monitor and assist with electrical testing & commissioning
• Manage snagging and close-out processes

Candidate Requirements

• Strong experience in managing CAT A/B fit-out projects
• Proven track record working night shifts in a leadership capacity
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with electrical testing
• SMSTS or SSSTS, ECS/CSCS (Black or Gold card preferred)
• NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition (as a minimum), Testing & Inspection qualifications (2391/2394/2395) desirable
• Excellent communication and coordination skills
