Job summary

United Parcel Service, Inc. is seeking a Class 1 HGV driver in Birmingham for a permanent role. The position runs Tuesday to Saturday, 40 hours per week, with a 1:30 am start.

Salary is £39,286.92 per year (£18.89 per hour). You will manage scanning, loading, temperature-controlled deliveries, and customer service across GP surgeries, pharmacies and hospitals. The role requires a Class 1 C&E licence (ideally ≤3 points) and at least 2 years of driving experience, including motorways, with DBS

Qualifications

• Must hold a Class 1 C&E driving licence, ideally with no more than 3 points.
• Minimum 2 years driving experience including motorways.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise.
• Team player mentality with ability to work on own initiative.
• Enhanced DBS check for successful candidates.

Responsibilities

• Managing the scanning of packages or pallets to your delivery vehicle.
• Ensuring safe and secure loading of all consignments to your vehicle.
• Assisting with loading and unloading of deliveries.
• Maintaining temperature control within the vehicle and refrigeration unit.
• Conducting vehicle safety checks including the refrigeration unit.
• Reporting defects as per the defect reporting process.
• Delivering pharmaceutical consignments to GP surgeries, pharmacies, hospitals and wholesalers.
