As a Night Shift Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting elderly and vulnerable clients during overnight hours, ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity throughout the night.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver person-centred care in line with individual care plans.

  • Assist residents with nighttime personal care tasks such as toileting, hygiene, and repositioning.

  • Monitor and document changes in the physical and emotional condition of service users.

  • Respond promptly and sensitively to emergency situations or night-time distress.

  • Maintain accurate records and reports as per regulatory and internal standards.

  • Provide companionship and reassurance during the night, promoting emotional well-being.

  • Collaborate with nursing staff, families, and external healthcare professionals when necessary.

  • Adhere strictly to infection control policies and health & safety procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to obtain within 6 months of employment).

  • Proficient in spoken and written English.

  • Empathetic and compassionate nature with a commitment to high-quality care.

  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.

  • Right to work in the UK or eligible for visa sponsorship (UK-based only).

  • Clear DBS check or willingness to undergo one.

Experience
  • Essential: Minimum 6 months of experience in a care assistant or support worker role (including night shifts).

Working Hours
