Role: Night Senior Care Assistant

Full-time position: 38.5 hours per week, night shifts on a 3x on & 3x off rota.

Overview

As a Night Senior Care Assistant at De Brook Lodge, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. You will help residents with care needs, supporting their security, dignity and independence, and work to deliver truly personalised care plans. You will lead a team of Care Assistants and be a positive influence on the rest of the team. Your duties may include helping residents with mobility aids, end-of-life care, meal support, and communicating with families as needed. You will also provide essential physical and mental stimulation through activities and may administer medication. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and building strong relationships with your team.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement care to give residents a real sense of security, dignity and independence.
  • Lead a team of Care Assistants and maintain high standards of care.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including mobility aids and end-of-life care as appropriate.
  • Communicate with residents’ families and provide support as needed.
  • Provide social and recreational activities to stimulate residents physically and mentally.
  • Administer medications in line with policy and training.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and contribute to care plans.
  • Recognise safeguarding concerns and participate in safeguarding training; know how to seek advice and escalate concerns.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Experience as a Senior Care Assistant or equivalent role in a care home setting.
  • Ability to lead and support a team, with a person-centred approach.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and completing relevant training.
  • Willingness to undertake ongoing training and development.
