Job summary

Oakland Care Home in Rochdale, part of Care Concern Group, is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to guide a team in delivering high-quality, person-centred care. You will oversee shifts, manage medication administration, monitor resident wellbeing, and respond to changes to maintain safety and dignity for residents.

You will maintain records, work with families and healthcare professionals, and support ongoing care planning and quality improvement initiatives within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• SVQ/NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care minimum.
• Level 3 is desirable or willingness to work towards.
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Guide and support your team to deliver safe, high quality, person centred care.
• Take responsibility for smooth running of the shift and ensure care is well organised.

About Oakland Care Home

Our 40 bedded home provides residential and residential dementia care in a friendly setting just outside Rochdale. Oakland is a purpose built home with a close knit feel, offering a welcoming environment, landscaped gardens and a team focused on providing high quality, person centred care.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £14.35 - £14. 95 per hour
• Contracted to 44 hours per week
• Paid [PVG/DBS], pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)
• Permenant Night shifts

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We Are Looking For
