Job summary

Waitrose & Partners is hiring a Supermarket Assistant in a customer‑facing retail role. You will contribute to a high standard of service, helping customers with their shopping and supporting the branch team to keep the store running smoothly.

Responsibilities include stocking shelves, fulfilling online orders, reducing wastage, and assisting with Click & Collect and other tasks as needed. Applicants should be prepared for DBS checks where required and flexible working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Communication skills to enable you to work effectively as part of a team and with our customers.
• Experience in a customer facing role is welcomed.
• Up to date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends.

Responsibilities

• Stock replenishment - ensuring shelves are full and products are in the right place for customers.
• Fulfilling online customer orders ready for delivery to customers' doors.
• Reducing wastage by following product due diligence and markdowns.
• Working with the wider shop team to support checkout, Click & Collect, and on-demand orders.
• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment with general shopkeeping tasks.
