Job summary

John Lewis Waitrose in Bury St Edmunds is hiring a Supermarket Assistant to deliver partner-led service and a passion for food on every visit. You’ll help stock shelves, prepare online orders for delivery, and support the branch team to keep things running smoothly.

This temporary, part-time role offers up to 30 hours per week with a nightly premium from 22:00 to 06:00 and flexible hours to fit retail demand. DBS checks may be required and full training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Essential: communication skills to work with customers and team.
• Desirable: prior experience in a customer-facing role.
• Desirable: interest in food and drink trends.

Responsibilities

• Stock replenishment to keep shelves full and correctly placed.
• Fulfilling online customer orders for delivery to doors.
• Reducing wastage by following due dates and markdowns.
• Support wider shop team including checkout, Click & Collect and on-demand orders.
• Maintain a safe, tidy and compliant working environment.
