Arriva TrainCare (ATC) Tyne Yard is seeking a skilled engineering technician to maintain and overhaul rail vehicles on a 4 on/4 off pattern, 19:00–05:30, averaging 35 hours per week. You’ll work under the Light Maintenance Team Leader, applying engineering principles, following procedures, and ensuring rolling stock reliability.

The role requires a NVQ Level 3 in Engineering and hands-on rail experience. Join a committed team with strong safety culture, health benefits, and pension support.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or equivalent.
• Experience in rail vehicle maintenance and rolling stock.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of depot operations and safety procedures.

Responsabilités

• Carry out maintenance and overhaul of rail vehicles within set timescales and standards.
• Assist with diagnostics and repairs as directed by Team Leader.
• Ensure safety procedures and documentation are followed at all times.
• Maintain depot housekeeping and cleanliness to company standards.
• Attend briefings and apply quality and environmental procedures.
