Job summary

Daish’s Holidays seeks a Night Porter to help keep the hotel safe, secure and welcoming while most guests sleep. You will support the daytime reception team and be a key point of contact during the night.

The role involves front-of-house duties, guest assistance, and maintaining security with lone-working procedures in place. All-year-round employment and a friendly team are on offer.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel or night porter experience is helpful but isn't essential.
• Must be responsible, approachable and able to work independently.
• Comfortable following security and safety procedures.
• Calm and professional when dealing with guests.

• Deal with guest requests and help ensure they have a comfortable stay.
• Maintain the security of the hotel during the night, as directed by Hotel Management.

• Follow fire safety procedures and procedures for emergencies or ill guests.
• Follow lone-working procedures to ensure personal safety at night.
• Assist guests with luggage and report issues to Hotel Management.

What will you be doing?

As a Night Porter, you'll play an important role in keeping our hotel safe, secure and welcoming while most of our guests are asleep. You'll continue the great service provided by our daytime reception team and be an important point of contact for guests throughout the night.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out front-of-house duties, including welcoming guests and responding to their needs.
• Providing a friendly, professional and efficient service throughout the night.
• Dealing with guest requests and helping to ensure they have a comfortable stay.
• Maintaining the security of the hotel during the night, as directed by Hotel Management.
• Carrying out regular security walks of the hotel and recording checks and actions in the appropriate log.
• Following the correct procedures in the event of an emergency, including fire safety procedures and situations where a guest becomes ill.
• Following lone-working and “buddy” contact procedures to ensure your own safety while working at night.
• Following company Health & Safety procedures and helping to maintain a safe environment for guests and colleagues.
• Assisting guests with luggage when required.
• Ensuring any issues or incidents are reported appropriately to Hotel Management.

What are we looking for?

The role includes weekends and bank holidays, with a typical Night Porter shift running from 11:00pm to 7:00am.
