Job summary

Heartwood Inns is seeking a Night Porter to safeguard guests and oversee overnight operations across our Lewes site. You’ll assist the Night Manager, ensure health and safety, and keep public areas clean during non-peak hours.

We offer a flexi contract with a minimum of 30 hours at £14.25 per hour, plus benefits like early pay, maternity/paternity leave, staff discounts, and bonus referrals. Previous hotel or hospitality night-porter experience is preferred, and you’ll thrive working

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience as a Night Porter/Auditor in a hotel or hospitality setting (preferred).
• Well-organised and able to learn systems and audits for overnight operations.
• You’re responsible, reliable, and have a keen eye for details.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Night Manager in ensuring guest safety and smooth overnight operations.
• Perform cleaning duties and maintain property standards.
• Handle late check-ins, early check-outs, and reservation checks.
• Support night audits, including fire, health & safety, and security checks.
• Prepare for breakfast service and provide shift handovers.
• Follow emergency procedures, including fire evacuations.

• You’re responsible, reliable, and have a keen eye for details

• 1-2 years of experience as a Night Porter/ Auditor in a hotel or hospitality setting
