Job summary

Buxton Crescent is seeking a Night Porter to support overnight Front of House operations at Champneys resorts. You will deliver excellent guest service while maintaining safety, security and presentation standards across the property.

You’ll work with the Night Manager on arrivals, guest requests, security checks and night-time administration, ensuring guests are comfortable and the resort is ready for the following day.

Qualifications

• Night shift flexibility and reliability.
• Strong customer-service mindset and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to safety and security details.
• Physically able to perform patrols and light manual tasks.
• Previous hospitality or security experience is helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, professional service to guests during the night.
• Assist with guest check-ins/outs and enquiries.
• Conduct regular security and safety patrols around the property.
• Keep guest areas clean, tidy and presentable.
• Handle phone calls, wake-up calls and taxi bookings.
• Assist with luggage movements and guest requests as needed.
• Perform night audit tasks and basic administrative duties.
• Process payments and maintain cash handling accuracy.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping and other departments for handovers.
• Report maintenance, safety or security issues promptly.
• Ensure fire exits and public areas are clear and compliant.
• Prepare the property for the morning team.

The Role
As Night Porter, you’ll support the overnight Front of House operation, delivering excellent guest service while maintaining safety, security and presentation standards across the property.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Ensuring guest‑facing areas are clean, tidy and presentable
• Handling phone calls, wake‑up calls and taxi bookings
• Supporting luggage movements and guest requests as needed
• Carrying out night audit tasks and basic administrative duties
• Processing payments and maintaining accurate cash handling
• Liaising with Housekeeping and other departments for smooth handovers
• Reporting any maintenance, safety or security issues promptly
• Ensuring fire exits and public areas are clear and compliant
• Preparing the property for the morning team
