Wood County Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Support Technician to join our team on a part-time night shift. The role focuses on accurate specimen collection, processing, and data entry to support high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

You will greet patients, ensure proper collection procedures, and collaborate with lab staff to maintain safety and compliance while delivering exceptional service to our community.

Responsabilités

• Greet patients and customers, answer inquiries, and serve as a knowledgeable laboratory resource.
• Collect patient specimens competently and efficiently across outpatient, inpatient, and emergency settings while minimizing patient discomfort.
• Verify specimen and test requirements by ensuring proper collection, adequacy of samples, and instructing patients on self-collection when needed.
• Resolve specimen and order-related issues by assessing requirements, troubleshooting discrepancies, documenting problems, and coordinating recollection when necessary.
• Process and manage specimens and laboratory information by preparing samples for testing or transport, utilizing information systems accurately, and participating in quality improvement activities.
• Prepare, prevent, protect and respond to support our culture of safety.
• Works hours per week in accordance with offer letter or per attributes of position at transfer request. May be expected to work longer hours as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.
