STEF Langdons Ltd in Bridgwater is seeking a Night Operations Manager to take responsibility for the night-time warehouse and transport operations at the Bridgwater depot. You will lead a team of supervisors and operational colleagues to run the operation safely, efficiently and cost‑effectively.

You will monitor performance against targets, drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance with drivers’ hours, health and safety, quality and stock control, and collaborate with other departments to

• Valid UK Transport Manager CPC.
• Experience in transport/logistics/warehouse or distribution management.
• Knowledge of transport and warehouse operations.
• People management and leadership skills.
• Understanding of health & safety requirements.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Proficient IT skills including MS Office.
• Ability to analyse data and identify improvement opportunities.
• Excellent communication to lead and influence teams.
• Flexible, results-driven in a fast-paced environment.

Night Operations Manager

Location: Brigwater | Full-time, Permanent | Salary: £50,614.00 + Benefits

What We Do

STEF Langdons delivers chilled and frozen food to almost any location across the UK and Ireland within 24 hours, supported by 12 depots and a fleet of over 500 vehicles.

The Role

As our Night Operations Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful running of our night-time warehouse and transport operations at our Bridgwater depot. Leading a team of supervisors, managers and operational colleagues, you'll ensure resources are planned effectively, service levels are achieved, and the operation runs safely, efficiently and cost-effectively.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and overseeing all night shift transport and warehouse activities.
• Ensuring staffing levels and equipment resources meet operational demands.
• Monitoring performance against operational and financial targets.
• Driving service excellence and resolving operational challenges.
• Ensuring legal compliance across all departments to include fleet, drivers hours regulations, health & safety, quality, and stock control procedures
• Supporting, developing and motivating teams to deliver their best performance.
• Promoting effective communication and collaboration across departments.
• Driving continuous improvement and operational efficiencies throughout the depot.

What You'll Need

• Currently holds a valid UK Transport Manager CPC
• Proven management experience within a transport, logistics, warehouse or distribution environment.
• Strong knowledge of transport and warehouse operations.
• Excellent people management, coaching and leadership skills.
• Sound understanding of health & safety requirements.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
• The ability to analyse operational data and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Excellent communication skills with the confidence to lead teams and influence others.
• A flexible approach and commitment to delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

Available Shift Pattern

• Sunday to Thursday 17:00pm - 2:30am
