Night Nurse

We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Night Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Oakwood, a category C prison located in Wolverhampton.

HMP Oakwood is one of the largest prisons in the UK, housing over 1,500 men.

Hours: This is a part-time role with fixed days and hours:

• 23.5 hours per week
• Thursday night: 11.5 hrs - 7:45 pm - 7:15 am
• Friday night: 12 hrs - 7:45 pm - 7:45 am

This position is part-time, with an annual salary of £41,673 FTE, which equates to approximately £26,116 per annum pro-rata.

Main duties of the job

As a Night Nurse, your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering nurse-led services within a multi-disciplinary team to prevent hospital admissions
• Undertaking medication rounds, dispensing controlled medication, attending emergency response situations, assessing patients, and conducting reception screening
• Delivering nurse-led clinics supported by a multi-disciplinary team
• Contributing to our nursing strategy and vision to provide outstanding, evidence-based, personalized care
• Delivering non-judgmental care that makes a real difference, aligned with our Health in Justice competency framework
