Job summary

SkyCare is recruiting a Registered Nurse for our Southwell care home, offering 12-hour night shifts (8pm-8am) in a purpose-built 82-bed facility. Expect a supportive team and comprehensive induction with opportunities for development in a warm, compassionate environment.

You will deliver high-quality nursing care, supervise junior staff, and maintain detailed records while upholding dignity and respect for residents. DBS and two references required.

Qualifications

  • Registered General Nurse with care home experience for older people.
  • Hold a valid UK NMC PIN (no restrictions).
  • Ability to work on shift/rota pattern.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Calm under pressure with strong communication.
  • Team player who can mentor junior staff.
  • Clear DBS and 2 satisfactory references.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records.
  • Administer nursing care to ill, injured, and long-term service users.
  • Document accurately in medical records and follow NMC guidelines.
  • Adhere to NMC Code and professional standards.
  • Be competent and confident in managing people with long-term conditions.
  • Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate interventions for complex needs.
  • Manage treatment plans for service users as appropriate.
  • Prioritize health problems and intervene in emergencies.
  • Produce accurate records of interactions and consultations.
  • Support, manage and guide support workers daily.
  • Pursue continual personal development and training.

About you:

  • An Registered General Nurse, with experience in a care home setting caring for older people.
  • Hold a valid UK NMC PIN ( no restrictions)

Information about the Role:

Working as an RGN Nurse (Registered General Nurse)

  • Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. Administer nursing care to ill, injured, and long term service users.
  • Behave in a professional and discreet manner at all times and in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code.
  • Be competent and confident in managing people with long term health conditions.
  • Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate interventions/treatments for service users with complex needs.
  • Proactively identify, diagnose and manage treatment plans for service users (as appropriate).
  • Priorities health problems and intervene appropriately to assist service users in complex,
  • urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care.
  • Recognize and work within your own competence level
  • Produce accurate, contemporaneous, and complete records of service user interaction and consultation, consistent with legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Support, manage and guide support workers on a daily basis.
  • Continual personal development to develop oneself and the role.
  • You will dispense and administer medication to residents as prescribed, accurately maintaining appropriate records
  • You will carry out stock control and ordering of resident's prescribed medication and medical products
  • You'll need to understand and comply with all statutory and legal requirements that are relevant such as Health and Safety, COSHH, and all aspects of the care Standards Act.
