Working closely with the Front Office Manager, this role will hold a key position within the hotel, overseeing operations from sundown to sunrise. The Night Manager will take ownership of driving the team to achieve high standards in line with the hotel’s 4* rating and current health and safety legislation, ensuring an excellent guest experience.

The ideal candidate will have previous supervisory experience in hospitality or reception, with skills to motivate and develop the team. Proficiency in health and safety, excellent communication skills for guest interactions, and system expertise are essential.

Day in the life of:

The Night Manager oversees the night team and hotel security, ensuring smooth operations and guest satisfaction. Responsibilities include managing recruitment, onboarding, training, handling guest queries, and acting as a multi-skilled duty manager when needed.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and guiding the night team, including scheduling and performance management.
  • Training staff to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Monitoring front desk operations, including check-in/check-out, calls, emails, and guest requests.
  • Resolving guest complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Upselling hotel products and services to increase revenue.
  • Managing room bookings, no-shows, and cancellations.
  • Collaborating with other departments for seamless guest experiences.
  • Communicating effectively and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Ensuring compliance with policies and safety regulations.
  • Completing night audits and security observations.
  • Preparing and cooking room-service orders during the night shift.
  • Handling cash in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintaining high security standards to ensure guest welfare during the evening.
